Could you be our Network Engineer?

 

Invisible Systems are recruiting a Network Engineer to join the team in our Manchester and Milnthorpe offices.

To support the growth plan, a dedicated Network Engineer is required to take responsibility as outlined below. Servers are MS and Linux based. Some are hosted on site, but the majority are with 3rd parties / cloud.

The Network Engineer will work alongside the Data Manager, Head of R&D, hardware, software and firmware developers, on both scoping and delivering new projects, and also maintaining, expanding and developing existing systems and infrastructure. ISL has 99.7%+ system uptime reliability.

The key objectives are:

  • To ensure data services are robust, reliable sufficiently rapid for the applications required.
  • To put full analytics in place to monitor systems and give early warning of any incipient failure.
  • To ensure systems are secure and up to date, and provide simple and secure access and export to clients.
Other duties will include support of Office 365 systems, office hardware, and integration of 3rd party devices to the ISL network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Infrastructure/architecture (Cellular VPN’s, Office, Staff VPN’s) and responsibility for:-
o Softcat
o AWS, Azure and others selected over time
• Data Broker architecture, hosting, monitoring and maintenance.
• Server communications infrastructure:-
o RTO, Gateways, LoRaWAN NWS, NB (CAT-M1 etc), Exports, Imports, Share Drive, Jira/Stash)
• Device Management server – LoRaWAN and others
• Database (MySQL Importers, SQL Importer, MSSQL, API, COAP etc)
• ISL and 3rd party outsourced product testing
• Server diagnostics.

Additional Responsibilities:

• SQL (Optimise Queries, Manage storage space, security, uptime)
• Workshop support/diagostics (Soldering/ Reworking/ Programming etc..)
• Office IT Support (printers/network/vpn/upgrades/etc..)
• AntiVirus/Domain Controller
• Training other team members on database and server infrastructure to widen knowledge within the business
• Embedded firmware development / support.

What are we looking for?

• MSSQL experience – 2 years +
• Understanding of network TCP/UDP
• Zabbix monitoring
• MS and Linus server domain control and diagnostics.
• Office 365
